Default Just abysmal. Advise.

Bodog 52+5 MTT

Blinds 10-20; Hero is on button with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Folds to Hero(T1200), raises to 70, villian (T1350) in BB calls

Flop AKx rainbow
Hero checks, villian bets 125, Hero calls

Turn is a rag
Hero bets 250, villian calls

River is T (no flush possibilities)
Hero bets 250, villian pushes, Hero?

Results in white below:
Hero calls, realizing he's only beat by QJ, and villian, of course, has it.

Please comment on and critique each play.

Thanks

How can you be on the button and also acting first every time after the flop? Were you in the SB?

Re-raise the flop to 300..

Push the turn. There's tons of hands here that call you down that you crush, and you stomp out the gutshot.

Even calling the flop is fine, but you have to raise the turn, pushing is probably good too. You can't slow play that board that much.

This is a bad beat story.

Villain called T250 on the turn when he should expect hero to have at least top pair leaving villain only 4 outs on the river. It's a terrible call on the turn but villain got lucky.

I'd lead the flop for a small amount. A or K bets here, and its not going to be believable for you to bet in later rounds without one of these (ie. a flop bet), or a big hand. I'd be thinking about how to build a small pot: if it turns into a big pot that's great too.

I'd lead the turn and the river with smaller bets that looked like blocking bets, hoping to get called by a K.
