I really thought he had a good hand since he led into me after I raised the flop. I still can't figure out what he had that couldn't call what was essentially a minraise that he could lead with.

it isn't a draw heavy board so this looks like a situation to slowplay your set against his pair of jacks. Maybe calling his bets on the flop and turn and then getting a big raise in on the river. Or calling the flop, raising 3X his bet on the turn and then pushing all in on the river
