I am open for ideas on how to handle this problem, this is my initial thoughts. I will pm everyone that expressed an interest in the original idea without any reservations. I will also pm the ones that expressed an interest but with reservations, like I would rather have cash, it has to be on PokerStars, etc.

If the ones that expressed an interest orginally and now want to participate in this, exceed the number of spots available, I would propose these players would have first priorty over players who are just now expressing interest.

I like this idea, Odoyle.
How about a $10 Private Tourney at Stars or something...
Treat it like a Satellite and ranking system for the waiting list.

I think the site owners are being cautious about allowing just 20 players in on this. The fact is, you need a lot more "regular" players at a site 24-hours a day to get off the ground. Look at Games Grid - it's been going for several months, and still hasn't really attracted many players.

When they offered the 1.5xB Blind for VFP and the bonus, I was willing to play short-handed, tough games, because I knew I could grind out 1.5+ BB/hour (with a very tiny element of ruin). When the VFP was cut, it wasn't enough for me.

It's worth it to the new site to offer big bucks to get enough players so new people looking at the site see enough games to interest them, otherwise you're just Choice Poker or Rakefree.

Is this new site a skin or an independent poker site?

I'm waiting on the answer to this... I don't think this is too much information to reveal. I think this piece of info is key.

Sorry, Iggy that I did not answer this question directly, but I think it is pretty clear if you read all the posts it is not a skin to a existing site. It is a new start-up, independent site. This is why all the discussion about the number of players that could participate would be limited.

I'm definately interested. My only concern is as mainly a 1/2 limit player it might be tough to knock this out 4-6 months but I guess that's kinda the idea too.

This offer sounds good but my main concern is this.

If it is a new independant start up site it's not going to have much traffic to start off with.

I don't want to sit at tables with all 2 + 2'rs trying to knock out enough hands to get a deal on a WSOP or WPT seat.

I'm interested, I could crank out the required rake in 3 months tops.
