When To Call Down With A high?
Just sat down, but this guy seemed aggressive. He 3-bet my blind steal attempt a few hands back, and I ended up folding the river. He'd been aggressivley playing like 4 of the 5 hands I'd seen.
Does anyone actually call down with A high here? Take another line? If you are not calling down, should I have just folded the flop? Re: When To Call Down With A high?
probably weak but id fold the flop,if i had a club id see the turn and then fold unimproved,
i cant see that calling down with A high because someone maybe be bluffing is +EV,it is a small pot on the flop so id let it go and not worry too much, just wait till you get somethin and let the guy bet into you then. Aslo if you bet the flop here he will probably just raise anyway,if you try something fancy like a CR he wont fold to that on the flop either i would say. |

Re: When To Call Down With A high?
This flop completely sucks for your A3s holding. Just fold it.

Re: When To Call Down With A high?
It's better to call down with Ace high when the flop is:
1) Paired 2) Has little connection 3) Rainbow 4) Contains only 1 broadway card 5) Any combination of the above. |

Re: When To Call Down With A high?
If you're not calling down, calling the flop is terrible. If he's as aggressive as you say he is, he's not going to check behind on the turn. Just fold.

what the hell were you doing calling the flop? thats a negative expectation of .48BB [/ QUOTE ] Really??? Please explain. I am defending with A3s against an open raise from an aggressive player whose played 4 of the 5 hands since I've been at the table. I have a hard time believing A3s is that negative in this situation.... but please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, gm |

Re: When To Call Down With A high?
If you call the flop and fold the turn the 94% of the time you don't catch an ace, it doesn't matter that you might have the best hand. Also the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] might give him a flush draw which cuts into your equity some more.

Yes, I agree that my flop call/fold turn UI was very bad. The choice is between fold flop and call down, and I think folding think folding the flop was the move here. Thanks, gm |
