Default Did Stuey Ungar have a \"partner\"?

I don't mean wife or girlfriend.

I mean gambling partner... bankroll partner... best friend... something of that nature.

Anyone know?

I believe he was bankrolled by a "partner" in his last few WSOP attempts, including his 3rd win. Apparently, he was dead broke every time th WSOP rolled around from excessive gambling and drug usage.

He had a very close friend named "Victor" (I can't think of his last name at the moment) but he bankrolled Stuey throughout most of his life after his father died. When he moved to Vegas he had plenty of backers after he won the WSOP back to back years. Mostly being Billy Baxter but after his drug use got out of control almost everyone of his backers including Baxter left him.

I believe Billy Baxter was his most frequent backer, though he had several throughout his career.

High Roller - the stu ungar movie discusses the backer in detail, although im not sure how accurate the movie is. Overall the movie kinda sucks and michael imperiolli is disappointing though.
