Top pair and a flush draw
WSOP super satellite on Party. Blinds are 30/60. I've been at this table for a couple of rounds and haven't seen many showdowns.
I'm at $940 in the BB with Qc4c. UTG ($2150) makes it $60 to go. He gets called by a mid-position short stack ($580) and the cutoff ($1765). SB folds and I call the extra $30. Flop: 5c9cQd I bet $300. Folded to the cutoff who calls. Turn: Qs I have $585 left and realize that I am likely NOT ahead here. What's my move, and what could I have done differently on the flop? |

Re: Top pair and a flush draw
Out of curiosity what makes you so sure you aren't ahead here? You giving him credit for the case Q or a boat? If he has the Queen you have 9 live outs to win and 6 to chop, if he has the boat you're already beat. It is very likely he's drawing to the nut flush or has 55-TT.
You very well maybe beat, but I'm certainly not convinced yet. |
