Default Every Good Poker Book

I searched for 20 mins on this topic, and I couldn't find anything like i wanted. I would like a list of every/most books that a poker player should read. Hold 'em, stud, omaha, anything, I just want a list of books that are really worth buying and reading.

I have read:
HPFAP
TOP
Caro's book of poker tells
1/2 of SS1
1/2 of HOH1

I have:
HOH2

I have ordered:
SSHE
SS2
TPFAP

I'm thinking the list should be a good sized number. Thanks to anyone who takes time out to reply.

Others will list the more popular books but I would reccomend Sklansky on Poker. It's mostly about Razz but is very good and should help with other games.

Do you want books everyone should read, or do you want the best books?

For example, there's little point in reading books on stud if you only want to play hold'em.

I think the following are very good. I'm abbreviating, so I hope you figure these out.

TOP
SSH
HGIYLHE
HOH vol 1
IYP
SCSFAP
HPFAP
Book of Tells

Stick with the 2+2 series, and the books by the Ciaffone/Reuben et al group (incl the "How Good is Your" series).

Outside of the 2+2, Ciaffone/Reuben et al and the books you currently have, look at:

Ace on the River by Greenstein
Little Green Book by Gordon
Real Poker II - Play of Hnad by Cooke
Weighing the Odds by King Yao

You're asking lots of qiestions, but you're not answering any.

Do you play lots of popular poker games (Omaha, Stud, Draw, Lowball, Hi-Low) or just Hold'em?

Do you play limit Hold'em or no limit Hold'em?

Do you plan to play only in tournaments or mostly in ring games?

Do you play on-line or in a casino?

How you answer these questions will change the book lists.

But for what it's worth, here's my list for on-line, limit Hold'em ring games (to be read in order):

Getting Started in Hold 'em
Small Stakes Hold'em
Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players
Theory of Poker

I thought that pretty much said it, but that wasn't clear enough. I want to get great at all poker games, so any poker book on any poker game that is worth reading, as well as books for online play and all the various limits (and no/pot limits). What I pretty much want is to say that after i read all the books in the list, that I am out of books worth reading (until a new book comes out). It would be really nice if more important ones were noted.

Hey Snoopdawg,

I think you are getting a little ambitious. It takes a long time to become good at a game.

Your question is akin to naming all the great chess books out there or all the great personal development books out there...there are literally hundreds of books and each one varies from horrible to great depending on who you ask.

My suggestion is to focus on two or three games and then expand gradually.

For instance, Sklansky's book of Razz is considered the authority on Razz but somehow, I highly doubt that studying that book will optimize your time and learning as you will not likely be playing Razz. Supersystem should be in every serious player's library but I doubt you will be playing 5 Card Draw.

Okay then. For starters, let's say that I'll focus on Stud high and Hold 'em (limit and no limit). Also, let's say that I want the list to be 20 books or less (and none that I have read already.) Hopefully this will generate some replys.
