Was this a good play?
3rd hour of Stars $10 rebuy. I think my image is pretty tight. The bad guy appears to be a good player. I wasn't sure what to make of his opening raise. I was afraid of a monster, and that's why I only called. If I hit a set I knew I could take him for a ride.
My re-raise was hoping to make him think that maybe I had a Ten, and he would let it go. Comments please. Re: Was this a good play?
I think that was fine. If you think he is a good player, than smooth calling an UTG raise with JJ is fine. If you re-raise and get re-re-raised, you're going to have a tough decision to make.
Good raise, and, I suspect, good laydown. Not a fun one to make, but it's hard for me to imagine what he might have that you beat here. *If* this player would raise 99 or AQ UTG, then you're ahead of those, but all other likely hands have you in quite a bit of trouble. Good raise to find out where you were and to push off draws, and a tough, but good (I think) laydown. |
