Live players I have found to be absolutely awful on average compared to online, here's an example 5/5 NL with $500 buy in( my friend has QQ on SB, 1 limper, he raises to $20 limper calls. Flop is A105, friend bets $40, he calls. Turn is 9, friend bets $75, limper calls. River is another 10, friend block bets $75,(no flush draws on board @ all) limper calls. Friend shows QQ, limper shows J3 and says he thought my friend was bluffing.

Also, players on weekends are usually worse than weekday players, but this play happened on a Thursday

Get accustomed to keeping track of the pot size in your head. This is a tough adjustment coming from having the numbers always right there for you. Oh, and be patient. Having to be patient is why I can't consistently play well at live poker.

First off ..Richie ..this is hardly a stupid question.

Yea, but it's not a good question either....What type of useful feedback is this guy gonna get here that he doesn't already know? "you'll see more tells in a live game"..."live games feel a little different. it will take some getting used to"....I suppose somebody may say "beware of shaking hands, it means they got a monster!"....definitely the best advice though was "there will be some pros at your table"

But more importantly, i believe the post is in the wrong forumn....I believe this would be a better post for the B&M forum. And Ahnuld has a bad habit of posting in the wrong forum....But whatever

[ QUOTE ]
Secondly, wouldn't you agree that sarcasm is one of the things bringing down the forum...just a thought

[/ QUOTE ]

No, sarcasm is funny. I like sarcasm. What brings down the forumn is crappy posts and crappy replies

No offense taken. But if you just recently joined, I think it's too early make a fair assessment.

I play live very rarely, but I've found that you can generally open for a lot more (6-8 BB + 1 per limper works) than online. Players are also bad, and you can order drinks from the waitress, so it's good I guess.
