Apts in Carson City/Reno

I am taking a job with a company located in Mound House. I will be moving into the area in Dec. and would like some input on where to live and cost of living. I am a single guy so an apartment or small house/townhouse would be best.

I will want to go to Reno on the weekends to play cards but don't have to live there. Something that would split the commute would be best. I will be going out again over thanksgivings to look for a place so any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't anyone live in this area? Do they all live around Vegas?
