Default A new trick for your arsenal

This one was just nasty. Check it out.

LP posts. folded to button who raises. The button is very aggressive (pfr 11%) and would probably steal with a fairly wide range of hands. I call from BB with 73h. poster calls.

flop: AA6 rainbow. Zero hearts. Few flops connect with my hand less than this one. It's checked to the button who bets. I call.

Good luck.
Eric

I must just be too tired, as I don't have a clue what you're trying to say here.

Well, a call says "I have an ace and am trapping you" whereas a raise would say "I don't think you have the ace, please fold"

Thus the flop call should by a lot of folding equity on the turn. Only works against thinking players of course =)

Don't forget that we haven't heard from the 3rd player yet either. Most players will check to the raiser in this spot, especially since, if he has an ace, it's a weak one.

A flop call doesn't just say "I'm trapping you", it also says, "hey, let's see if I can get some more money out of that 3rd guy over there". Naturally, I really want the 3rd guy to fold.

Good luck.

right, so that means he's checking the turn through and calling any river, sometimes even with K high

i think this move sucks

Who said anything about checking the turn? I plan to bet anything if the 3rd player folds.

Good luck.
