You say what you think and then state a fact of little to no correlation. Why do you believe that not being able to beat 3/6 after 1,000 posts is pathetic? If its because you are in that situation than your reasoning is faulty at best.

Wow, you're a really grumpy little man tonight...

I always just kind of assumed those with a 4-figure number posts or more on the average were pretty good players. I mean, when I got into discussions with them about a hand or what not, I admit I was a bit intimidated. I'd think "they must be right, look how experienced they are." I think the reverse was true too, "He's got less than 100 posts, what does he know."

If you think about it though, if someone like Phil Ivey or Chip Reese anonymously came on here as a new member and started giving advice like they were an excellent player, wouldn't we all be a little skeptical and not put a lot of weight into what a "stranger" said.

I think you make a great point, dude. As I get to make more posts and read more posts, I'm learning who is at what level, what type of player they are, and how good of a player they really are. As I do this, I can put more/less weight towards the advice someone gives.

Also, I posted an interesting poll in the past on why people here are not playing one limit higher. Some interesting results.

Well, judging by my post count (cruising towards 1000) and my limit, I'd say that it has a lot to do with:

1) How thoroughly you're willing to argue about a hand.
2) How often you're willing to post hands.

vs.

3) How much you read vs. playing and posting.

He is on pace to hit 5,000 posts before the end of next month, and still can't beat NL25.

So, could I beat the 3/6 game? I would like to think so yes. Do I have the BR for 3/6? Yes. I am just a pussy. I am really conservative with my roll -- probably too concervative, b/c I nursed that thing from when it was $50. I don't make a move up until I am 1000% sure I'm ready.

My own opinion is that the biggest mistake people make is moving up limits too fast. I would MUCH rather err on the side of caution.

But, more than anything to me I guess, it's about doing this well. Poker is a hobby for me, and part of the challenge for me is playing the right way. I am taking a long a slow road, but I like to think I am learning the game the right way, step by step, analyzing my mistakes, improving my game, and making sure all my big leaks are plugged by the time I move up to a game where such leaks can cost a lot more.

[/ QUOTE ]

ditto, but I'm not sure how well I'd do at 3/6. 2/4 maybe. I've never really understood the race to move up as quickly as possible.

Ouch. In his defense he has moved up.

Because poker players are competitive by nature and want to make more money.
