Re: poker and alcohol
At most, one, at the card room. Several at the recreational/social home game.

Re: poker and alcohol
i almost never drink when i play but the few times i have i have found that it only makes me play tighter. i know that makes no sense, but when i get drunk i become much more interested in talking and much less interested in working.

Re: poker and alcohol
I would like to point out here that (1) I've never seen Riverman drink in enough moderation at the table that he's likely to remember what his image was while drinking and (2) drinking to the point of unconsciousness only makes Riverman progressively more tight-weak than usual. The last time I played with a drunk Riverman, he folded AQo face up from the button to my CO openraise...
Note: Said alcohol-induced tight-weak tendencies are absent when it comes to cocktail waitresses. Here, drinking at the poker table tends to make Riverman a bit of a LAG. scrub |

Re: poker and alcohol
1) The AQo was the worst hand
2) LAG can be effective with cocktail waitresses |

Re: poker and alcohol
1) Not by a longshot.
2) It's true--you superplayed it. I'm pretty sure that getting 2) right is much cooler than getting 1) right would have been. scrub |
