40.28% 504 sessions 22,474 hands BUT...I've won 5.76BB/100 Go figure. [/ QUOTE ] I know why. And I also know why this stat has no analytical value. Its b/c if you pick up and leave a table after 1 orbit b/c you discover the table sucks, its counted as a losing session. Good online players should be willing to pick up and move frequently. Much more frequently than a live player is able to. FWIW, my stat is 48% at 2/4. I'm not changing anything becasue of it. |

It probably depends a lot on the player’s methods and habits of picking and deciding whether to stay on a table. Perhaps if a player tends towards one extreme or the other it might indicate something suboptimal about their play, but other than that possibly I don't think anyone ought to be changing their playing style to try to move this stat. Perhaps being at less than 50% winning session is a good indication. I started the survey without any hypothesis. But I think it's of some interest to get an idea what range successful players fall in, or to see if such a range even exists. |

Re: What Is Your Winning Session Percentage - Survey
In "Gambling Theory and other Topics", Mason Malmuth, using mathematical formula, came to the conclusion that overall a winning player will lose around 45% of his playing sessions. He was warning of the danger of trying to recover losses quickly. So I feel OK about my 51%. Would be nice to have 55% though.

Re: What Is Your Winning Session Percentage - Survey
I think a lot of my losing sessions are due to me playing about 2-3 orbits, finding that my table is full of TAG's and being folded to the blinds. So I get up and leave, down like 5-10BB.

[/ QUOTE ] I avoid this problem by opening 4 tables and running them with GT+ for half an hour. When you check back it's fairly obvious which table you want to sit down at. |
