Default Hey there sissyboy!

A little earlier at the table, I recently played this hand which may not even be relevent to how people are playing me now, but it might be too (sorry, just giving a copy/paste to quickly move past the history and get to the actual hand in question):

d0000d: posts small blind £15
DDD: posts big blind £30
----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to d0000d [Th Kd]
AAA: folds
BBB: raises £60
CCC: folds
d0000d: calls £45
DDD: calls £30
----- FLOP ----- [8h 6h Td]
d0000d: bets £30
DDD: raises £60
BBB: raises £90
d0000d: raises £90
DDD: calls £60
BBB: calls £30
----- TURN ----- [8h 6h Td][As]
d0000d: bets £60
DDD: folds
BBB: calls £60
----- RIVER ----- [8h 6h Td As][2h]
d0000d: bets £60
BBB: calls £60
----- SHOW DOWN -----
d0000d: shows [Th Kd] (A Pair of Tens, Ace high)
BBB: mucks hand [Jc 8c]
d0000d collects £777 from Main pot

and have been making some liberal value bets and some even more liberal call downs. I have a somewhat aggro image, and many of my opponents do as well.

OK, THE ACTUAL HAND:

UTG raises (he's DDD (BB) in hand above). He's a 28/21 TAG type player and seems respectable. UTG+1 cold calls. He's a 34/23 type TAG and also decent. He wasn't involved in the KT hand but I have a feeling he's got his own mental notes about me that involve me being a loosey goosey fish (as does UTG, most likely).

I call in the BB with 9s8s.

----- FLOP ----- [8d Qd 9h]
I check, UTG bets, UTG+1 raises, I call, UTG 3-bets, UTG+1 caps, we both call.

I did not want to do any raising on the flop since this is the type of board where against two hands with two cards to go who both like this flop, if I'm ahead, I certainly do not have much of an equity edge. So I'll see what the turn brings. I'd like to c/r a safe looking turn card if it gets checked to UTG+1.

----- TURN ----- [8d Qd 9h][Ks]
I check, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, I call planning on folding if UTG checkraises. UTG calls.

----- RIVER ----- [8d Qd 9h Ks][As]
I check. I'm willing to put in 1 bet to see a showdown. Two and I'm out.

How badly did I [censored] this hand up? Did I [censored] it up?

Question... why the call in the SB in the first hand?

Evan asked me the same thing.

I'm lazy, so here's a copy/paste of what I told him:

Schneids (10:54:21 PM): homie i do NOT like arguing preflop
Schneids (10:54:24 PM): the guy had Jc8c!
Schneids (10:54:31 PM): i know my opponents PF ranges
Schneids (10:54:46 PM): and LOOK at how little respect a d000d got
Schneids (10:54:56 PM): that means a d000d, who is an EXPERT, can play MORE hands profitably

Who said anything about folding? Why no 3-bet instead?

He was the type of opponent where I prefered playing fit-or-fold, since I felt taking the initiative wouldn't give me any increased chance of him folding and my image was kinda crappy so it was more likely he'd play back with little.

Situationally based, there are days I might 3 bet. But this forum is too content to just 3-bet or fold, esp. from the blinds, IMO.

I was thinking more to get the BB out as opposed to getting initiative.

3 betting the flop might be a good idea to make play on subsequent streets easier, so it doesnt have to be purley for value.

Given the way you played the flop, I think the turn and river plan are good. I would have 3-bet the flop. I certainly understand your reasoning for not doing so, but my thinking is that my hand is so vulnerable and the pot is big enough that I don't really mind trying to win it as soon as possible. But I'm sure you know better than I do.

This is the part I don't understand. With 2 pair, you'd fold to 1 more bet? I understand it might get capped, but wouldn't very aggressive opponents bet or raise with just one pair and a draw? At this point, are you already putting your opponents on 2 pair or better?

excellent work to look like a chip spewing chook - but i think that argues your a nancy on the hand

in isolation i dont think its pretty to flop 2 pair acting first of 3 and not find the bet/raise button - i suppose the turn is a bit scary but is it really scary enough to ditch the plan ? - no flash no straight

bare minimum you should feel like a wussy
