Default $22: BB, push preflop or check and push the flop?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) converter

Hero (t1238)
UTG (t1218)
MP (t1031)
Button (t1308)
SB (t3205)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

UTG limps. Folds to me in BB. Push now, or check and push any flop? Or check and push any favorable flop?

I'm going to have to agree, unless there is some table dynamic that you've noticed: like their all super-tight and you can bully later, and UTG has been known to limp with Big pairs. Other than that I like the pf push.

Thanks everyone. I did push, but let self-doubt creep in a little based on the result.

I think I would have checked and see a flop and play from there. Push may be as good, but why would UTG limp if he doesn't want to call an all-in? Still not sure... both options looks good to me.

For argument's sake, limping aces or kings here is often a +EV play against known pushbots. If your opponent has demonstrated smarts and pushbot ability, I'm very wary of the open limp on/near the bubble, especially when you know they know they should be pushing instead. Something I really had to watch when multitabling, and something I've done to effect against other multitablers who might not take the time to make the read.

If they're just a typical $22 player, then its an easy pooosh. Blinds are ridiculously high with stacks this equal with five remaining.

Here's a thought.

When someone limps in 1/6 of their stack UTG in this situation, how often are they folding to a push?

Highly read-dependent, but it's not especially unusual at the 22s. With the blinds this high, I'll push and take my chances.
