Default Borgata quick question

I play mostly at taj at trop 1/2 NL and usually play some 4/8, 5/10 limit also. I don't really bother with Borgata because I've been there twice and had to wait over 45 minutes for a 3-6 seat and the 1/2 NL list was also outrageous. This was on a Thursday night and a Saturday during the day. I feel like people tend to go there because it is trendy, but the games are just as good at taj or trop.
Is this wait time standard there or what is the deal. Also I find that the room rates are cheaper elsewhere, do they have poker rates?

The Borgata is a gorgeous, classy casino. The waitresses are hot.

I enjoy playing there. It is worth the wait (to me). I hope their new poker room expansion is going to be nice.

They do have poker rates, but rooms get filled pretty quickly.

I know alot of people that play at Borgata just because the drive is 8 minutes shorter to get there...

When the action is similiar, the little things are why Borgata wins. Closer to the Parkway, better food, etc, etc, etc

In order to receive the Borgata Poker rate you must already have a Borgata Players card, which you can get at the Poker desk. If you get there and there is a huge wait I have found that many times players just give up waiting and leave. So if you stand near the desk and see that a persons name has been called 2 or 3 times and there is no one in sight, just take their spot.

A follow-up Borgata quick question. I've played there a bunch but have never stayed there. Do they give seating preference to hotel guests? I am guessing no because I have never seen it done, but I thought I'd ask.

No, no seating preferences for hotel guests. Now, that said if you know the floor guys, you can often sneak into games with much greater ease if you're either down the list or not on it at all. Also, one advantage for hotel guests is that they, unlike folks offsite, can call the poker room and get on the list before arriving in the poker room.

The poker rate is the cheapest for AC I believe. Tropicana only has 20 poker rooms per night, so don't expect to get a room on short notice (the Trop Hotel manager plays at Borgata and told me so).

Awesome tip, I will be staying at The Borgata for the first time this weekend. Most likely playing all day so the wait lists won't be a huge deal

Last time I played at the Borg I didn't even recognize him. He was actually wearing just a t-shirt. Well, I assume pants as well, hard to tell with the table in the way.
