$109s - Two Barrel Bluff
Like or no like?
I have some history with Villain: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (7 handed) converter Button (t2065) Hero (t925) BB (t2050) UTG (t2290) MP1 (t705) MP2 (t1175) CO (t790) Preflop: Hero is SB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t60, 4 folds, Hero calls t45, BB calls t30. Flop: (t180) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets t125, BB folds, I push, UTG calls t740. Turn: (t1045) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) River: (t1045) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: t1045 Results in white below: Hero has 3c 3h (three of a kind, threes). UTG has Qs Qc (one pair, queens). Outcome: Hero wins t1045. He seems decent, current stack was built on a AK all-in called by 99 or something. Prior to the first hand with me, he had called an allin with a combo draw on the flop. (iffy, but not awful call) On to the hand in question: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (6 handed) converter SB (t1765) Hero (t1585) UTG (t1890) MP (t2570) CO (t1650) Button (t540) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP calls t150, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (t450) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP bets t150, SB folds, Hero calls t150. Re: $109s - Two Barrel Bluff
Can't he have 88 here? I assume you think he's playing with 22-77?

Flop: (t180) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets t125, BB folds, I push, UTG calls t740. [/ QUOTE ] i don't see how this is the first barrel bluff of another to come. if he has 8 8 or 9 9, good for him-- he had to pay and show. i doubt villian is wiiling to gamble with a straight draw and call your all-in on the flop but with his stack, he may have been willing to with 8 diamond outs. |

Re: $109s - Two Barrel Bluff
I don't see how the history of the first hand is relevant to the current situation. The blinds are way bigger and your action is different. What am I supposed to be seeing?

Re: $109s - Two Barrel Bluff
I think it's okay. You've shown the villain that you have a willingness to play three of a kind fast in the first hand; I wonder how much weight he puts on that. The line that you're taking here looks more "trippy," though I think people will generally try c/r'ing the turn in those circumstances more often than leading. I'm just not sure that he's going to give you credit for it, though being in the blind helps. That said, I have a hard time thinking of a hand he could be playing this way that he's going to be calling on the river. You picked a good board for this. A couple of questions: What range do you think his limp means, and which of those hands is he folding? And (on a related note) which rivers are you not betting?

Actually, I think it is a 3 barrel bluff.

The check/call/lead out is taking a shot. You don't need to take a shot here specifically, but not a bad spot I think. Maybe it worked, but I don't like your chances after he calls the turn. |

Re: $109s - Two Barrel Bluff
I could be wrong, but my impression was that the first hand was just for background and the second hand contains the 2-barrel bluff.

Re: $109s - Two Barrel Bluff
IMO you are overthinking the situatoin and getting to fancy with this bluff. If you think he's stealing, checkraise the flop. That's how I would play an 8 or 4 sometimes anyway.

He hasn't shown much weakness since his pf limp, and this board hit a lot of limping hands. |
