IMO this is a mistake. HU, I'd dump it, but not with the overlay present here. IMO it is a very bad one to fold it "in general", as you say. Each situation is different and should be treated as such.

I would call and not think twice about it.

I like the flop call instead of a raise. Any single spade bigger than you, higher 8, or K will probably cold call 2 anyway.

I disagree. The T, J and maybe Q are gonna have a tough time here IMO. Would you really feel good about making that call, when it is possible (maybe even likely) that if you get there you're gonna lose anyway?

Apparently I'm in the minority, but I agree with Josh here. Maybe I'm a special case, but if I am holding the T, J or Q here, I am NOT going to be happy about calling 2 cold on the flop, especially when there is a distinct possibility that I am not even going to be good if I get there. Hero needs to protect his weak made hand and his weak draw. IMO the raise is good.

I personally would feel bad about calling in that spot, but we aren't talking about you and I, we are talking about the donkeys in the 5/10 6 max.
