Default ASU v Cal State Fullerton

anybody else see the third base umpire take the game out of the players hands last night?

he called a balk on the pitcher after he threw the fourth pitch of an intentional walk which allowed the runner on third to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

next to the fifth down play in college football - this is one of the largest f ups I can remember.

That umpire should be taken out and shot.

i played for murph and i am really surprised he didn't go nuts out there. for one he is a known for his temper and then to lose game one of a super-regional that way i figured there was no way he was going to stay calm.

his post game interview was one of shock still.

he just kept saying, "well, he's obviously going to regret this decision at some point"...about the ump and the call.

can't help being an asu fan for the rest of this series now - hope they come out strong today.

I'm an Arizona Wildcat, and for those that don't know....
Wildcats and Scum Devils are mortal enemies.

That call was possibly the worst call I've ever heard of. Worse even (though less important) than the call that gave Russia the gold in hoops at the 72 Olympics.

granted, the call was right. the pitcher never came to a complete, discernible stop
but u dont EVER make that call
i mean, who's even watching the pitcher when hes throwing an intentional walk. if im an umpire, im either talking to someone or playing with my balls, or both. IM NOT CALLING A BALK

I'm a uofa alum too! Anyway, the kid is just trying to get this walk out of the way while preparing mentally for the next batter - the biggest at bat he'll pitch of his life up to this point.

and it's taken from him...damn.
