Default NYC Club Scene

I use to live in NYC from 98 to 03. I liked to go clubs in NYC, probably once every 2 or 3 months. My favorite was Twilo, specially when Saasha and Digweed were playing. Good music and the perfect cross-section of club kids, asians, gays, meatheads (I could do without completely), freaks and people like me (fairly straight forward normal).

I am going to be in NYC Dec. 11th weekend for my 30th birthday and would like to hit a club late night since it is something I never get to do anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations for clubs that fit the Twilo mode on Sasha and Digweed nights from the early 2000's?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

Really, none of you cool young hip whipper snappers have been to a good club in the last year in NYC?

My roommate was into this at the time as well. It looks like this scene has sort of died down once the lounge scene started. The closest to what you remember is probably cro-bar, which I think is the old Exit.

Crobar conveniently located right next to downtown Scores, too.

Other suggestion would be Avalon, it's a little younger though

MS: awesome dunk
Phil: Crobar (as others have suggested) might be good for what youre looking for. Tiesto was there this past weekend and i heard from friends that he brought the house down. Avalon is also another option, but they randomly have pop acts taking over the joint. check out clubplanet.com for some more info.
