Are the big games still eligible for the JP?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't believe they are.

Default Update...

The kill games arrived today.

They are running 3-6, 4-8, 6-12 at full kills.
10-20 at 1/2 kill(15-25) All tables.

I don't see the 6-12 lasting long, but who knows.

Not sure when they are implementing the non-JP drop for the 20-40 and above.

Flapjack and I sat in a great game today. He started out basically carddead for awhile while I went on a nice run until he finally caught a little fire. When he did that, I was carddead so it worked out pretty good.

Lots of action.

How many kill tables at each level? Just one?

I wonder how that would affect the potential players. Do the LAGs go for the kill games while the rocks and fish play the regular games? What is the advantage of a kill game? I have only played 1/2 kill a couple of times in Vegas and Tahoe, so my experience is way too limited to have formed any sort of expert opinion.

Right now, they're all kill games. Overconservatives may not like kill games. One advantage, among others, is that a kill game benefits the better player. The better player will be in fewer pots so he'll post the kill less often. His maximizing of mistakes of others will also be magnified a little more as the price(monetarily) is higher. There also can be more steal situations as some opponents will be timid about the money.

One downside is that kill games will bust people faster.

Somewhere in the 'magazine forum' Dude had a couple threads about games involving a 'rock'. Which has the same benefit as the kill.

Here are some strategic considerations when playing in a Kill game.. My local card room is 5/10 but if someone wins a $100 or larger pot they get the Kill and have to post $10, then the next hand is $10/20. Since $100 pot is the trigger (not winning 2 hands in a row) its common for the Kill to be on several hands in a row.

Anyway when the Kill is off you must play tighter since your implied odds are lower (you win the pot and you have to give back some $$). Your drawing odds have to be higher to chase too. When the Kill is on (more dead $$ in the pot pre-flop) you must play more aggressive, open raise more, fight for the bigger blinds, and play tighter in the blinds (which are still at the smaller limit).

I love kill games. Often the prev hand Killer fish will call a raise with crap since "they already have $$ in the pot".
