Default Which Palahnuik book first?

And yeah, I know there have been tons of threads, I just want somoene to give me a quick answer then this can be locked. About to make an Amazon order.

Never read anything of his stuff before. Would prefer a fresh start, i.e. not Fight Club.

I've read all his stuff, it's all good. Lullaby and Choke have great premises. I'd start with one of those two.

If you haven't read Tom Robbins, he's someone else you might like.

The correct order is:

Survivor
Fight Club [1]
Choke
Lullaby
Diary
Stranger Than Fiction
Haunted

[1] Assuming you've seen the movie Fight Club. If not, definitely read this book first.

for one thing you didn't even include invisible monsters, so no you are wrong.

to answer the OP- it really depends, are you going to read all of chuck's work? if so i would just start from the beginning b/c some of them are one-sitting books.

a little FYI: Invisible Monsters was the first book he ever wrote but couldn't get it published b/c of how graphic it was and the content so that was the reason behind Fight Club. Chuck thought it was funny that he got FC signed with a publisher within the first week of the manuscript being sent in (he says he scared them into publishing it )

i would start with either Invisible, Survivor or Fight Club and once those are read go to Choke, then Lullaby, Diary etc.

Survivor is my personal favorite.

Invisible Monsters sucked...which is why it wasn't included on the list; I'm looking out for the OP.
