Language/Word riddle
so a buddy of mine asked me to come up with a common noun that becomes plural when you add an 'a' to the beginning of the word.
it's been a couple days...and i still come up with nothing...so now I bring it to OOT - i'm sure one of you knows the answer to this. |

Re: Language/Word riddle
Maybe it's something like 'cross' and 'across' where adding the 'a' makes it plural but not the plural of the same word. Just a direction to think in.

Re: Language/Word riddle
i'm pretty sure it makes the plural of the singular word...he said that he's had professors tell him it's impossible - until he gave them the answer.
seriously, one of the ootiots must know this. |
