Re: Internet account security interview with Lee Jones
Ask Lee what PokerStars would do in this sort of situation. Would the member get any money back, or at the very least some responses?
I can't believe Party hasn't answered emails regarding this issue from the guy who got screwed. That's amazing. |

Re: Internet account security interview with Lee Jones
Hey Mr. J-2 offsuit!
Just offhand, it sounds like there was a keylogger installed on Mike's computer from a remote system. If Mike ever allows other people to use his system, then they could also have placed a keylogger on his system. So I guess my question for Mr. Jones is: What does Pokerstars do when a player logs on to their site from a different IP address than the IP address they regularly log on with to play? Anyways, looking forward your Vegas tales when you return back.. Lawrence |

Must postpone radio interview
Hi folks -
Because of the outage that we had at PokerStars this afternoon, I'm going to be busy this evening and tonight. So I won't be able to appear on the radio show. I've emailed him and asked if we can reschedule for next week. I apologize to all of you and particularly Adam for this late cancellation. Best regards, Lee Jones PokerStars Poker Room Manager |

Re: Internet account security interview with Lee Jones
Thanks for responding Lee....obviously you have other stuff to take care of.
Lawrence - I play some at my home and some at an internet-coffee place. Even though I check the box that says 'save my password' on pokerstars I'm forced to re-type my password everytime I log-on from the new place. Not sure if this is just me....but it is happening with my old computer as well as with my new one and it is not something I encounter on other sites (my password is always saved). If I log-on to stars from my home for 4 days in a row then the password will be saved....but once I 'switch it up' again and log-on from a coffee-place or somewhere else the password is sometimes gone and I have to re-type it (which I certainly don't have a problem with). |

Re: Internet account security interview with Lee Jones
I presume you are using your laptop via WiFi from the different locations...
It is my understanding that the password that is stored in the user.ini file in your PokerStars folder, also contains some information about the computer/IP address used to connect. Thus when you connect from a different location it asks you to manually enter the password again. The reason for this is to stop someone from copying the user.ini file onto another computer in order to try and hack your account.... I hope that makes sense Rom |
