Default Another Gift Advice Question

What is a good gift to give a female co-worker? It's a gift for a friend. The situation is completely unromantic so SIIHP won't work. I expect any number of manwhore jokes as well, but I'd like some serious responses too, please.

The situation is this - A co-worker and very good friend of my girlfriend is completely stressed out. She overworks herself totally. She gives too much of herself to far too many committments. She's just too selfless and doesn't give herself any time for fun. My girlfriend had tried asking to go do fun things, but she always insists she's too busy. My girlfriend is really worried about her well being.

She wants to get her a nice gift that says 'I care.' and also will help her pack up her troubles in her old ALICE pack, at least temporarily.

Ideas? Recommendations from the beautiful ladies of this forum will carry significantly more weight. Thank you.

What is she stressed out about?

If she has kids, offer to babysit. If it's work, give her a gift certificate for a nice restaurant near her work that she can really relax at during lunchtime. If it's homelife/ dating then give her movie tix or a netflix account. If it's just general stress, give her a gift. for a pedicure or give her one of those foot spas.

Make sure it comes from your girlfriend or you two as a couple. If you give it to her directly, out of the blue for no holiday, she will think you want her and it will make her more stressed out.

As previously suggested a gift certificate to a spa is a great idea.
You could also buy a basket with candles, lotions, bath salts... pick a scent that is soothing (I am sure your girlfriend will know what to choose).

If she likes to unwind with a cocktail, I'd suggest mslif's basket idea with a nice bottle of wine. She can make a nice personal unwind night outta that. Of course if she has a guy, well then a nice couples unwind night.

This sounds like a good idea. What do these places cost?

This sounds like a good idea too. We don't know wines though. What's a good? Any recs for French wines (or any others), mslif or anyone else? El Diablo, you know wines right?

Depends on the spa and what kind of treatments you want her to be able to get. When I buy them for people I typically spend $100 at Burke Williams, a fancy place in LA. For that I think they can get a massage and a manicure or facial or something. You could probably spend less on just a massage somewhere else.

WTF, I thought you were a gimmick account?

As for the question, if you want to go the simple route, flowers and a nice card saying hang in there will go a long ways in bringing a smile to a woman's face.

the other suggestions are good too.
