well done, easy river bet. I like holding off on the flop raise.

oh, and...

your easily up against JJ, AJs, AQ, AK, KQs, AKs, AQs..

and even more hands - looks like an isolationg he we could have JQs or even worse...

JJ & AK are possibilities here also.

If he is the type of player that will call with AK here, then the bet is correct. If not, then a check behind is the right play.

Reasoning - Villain's possible hands:
AA - 6 combos
AK - 8 combos
KK - 1 combo
QQ - 3 combos
JJ - 6 combos

If he calls with all these, you will win [(8+6)/(6+8+1+3+6)]=58.33% of the time that he calls.
If he will not call with AK, you will win only [6/(6+8+1+3+6)]=25% of the time that he calls.

yes. he can 3-bet more hands than that without being a LAG. I don't like the flow of this hand. he leads the flop into the capper. you withhold the raise until the turn. I don't feel comfortable with a slow play here. I'd rather see if he 3-bets flop, and leads again if I cap. that would be more money. and it gives you a better idea if you need to check this river.

IMO, this range is a little broad for an unkown at 3/6.

I agree. I like the flop raise to force villain to define his hand.

to try to put it another way. for the most part the hands that call a turn raise are hands that three-bet the flop. capping flop gets you more money when he backs off. and it allows you to read and stabilize the situation more quickly (seeing whether he backs off or not). instead you are facing a turn fold or three-bet and same thing on the river.

after reading Mosta I agree - Flop call is weak...

raise and play from there.

Everyday a lesson learned
