Default Cleaning Service

Anyone use a cleaning service?

I've been traveling for work a lot and the Warden is in grad school two nights per week. We're behind on the housework. I suggested that we look into hiring a cleaning service to come in once or twice a month. The Warden got upset, thinking that I was picking on her.

What to do? Pretty sure we can afford it (though I don't know how much it actually costs), and it would save us some time. Any of you know how much it costs and how frequently they show up?

twice a month for general cleaning should run around $50-$75. More for additional cleaning/stuff like bathtubs, etc.

Check your local junk mail/coupon booklet. They have a lot of good deals in there.

Funny you bring this up, my wife and I are contemplating doing the same thing. Mainly because we are lazy and can afford to.

I have one. I also have a 2 bedroom apt. Though. They come every 2 weeks and do a damn good job too.I mean top to bottom, They even move the fridge can clean under it.

It cost me 55$ per visit. Which I split with my roomate

This is well worth it.

$55 a trip every other Thursday. General cleaning, no laundry.

Must be lucky down here in the Atl burbs.

For them to basically spring clean your house it's only $100.

I can't believe your wife got upset. It is money well spent if you can find somebody good. Tell her not to worry, there is still cleaning to do.

By "cleaning", are they picking stuff up and organizing, or are they dusting/washing, or both?

Not entirely sure, but I think she took the suggestion as an insult to her "womanhood." Either that or she thought I was picking on her for not cleaning her bathroom (mine is spotless, by the way).

I basically want someone to come in twice a month and wash the floors and dust the surfaces. We have hardwoods throughout so sweeping up isn't a big deal, but I loathe pushing a mop. Especially this time of year, the floors are dulled by road salt, dirt, and water. I want these floors shiny!

I would hope they're just cleaning, not organizing or picking up. Where I put my stuff is my business.
