Default Worst laydown EVER (my $7500 mistake playing the 30-60 at Oaks Club)

So there I was playing the 30-60 at the Oaks Club in Emeryville, CA, when this hand came up.
I'm UTG+1 with 10-10. weak UTG raises, and I 3-bet. It folds all the way around and UTG calls. Flop A-rag-rag rainbow. UTG checks, I bet, she calls, turn Ace she checks, I bet, she calls. River Ace she checks, I check (thinking, ha, you missed a bet) she shows AJ for quad Aces with Jack kicker, and I muck. A couple of minutes later, she asks, "What did you 3-bet with? You didn't have at least 10-10??" "Why?" I ask, "Jackpot!" she replies. "Oh," I say, "Naa, I had 99," (so the rest of the table didn't string me up outside and lynch me) while inside, I'm screaming "FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! !!!!!!"
I'm so used to playing in clubs with no jackpots that I didn't even think of it. Stupid stupid stupid.

So I guess the moral of the story is. A) find out whether there's a jackpot of any kind when you sit down at the table, and B) don't muck the jackpot hand.

I thought Oaks didn't have the jackpot drop at 15/30 and up.

I've never played stakes bigger than 15-30 that had a jackpot either...but then after I was made aware of my blunder, I looked, and there it was, jackpot drop, $1 per pot.

Don't most places require you use both hole cards?

Oh, I see.

I am such a rake nit. I always notice the extra white going down.

I don't know that jackpot rules there but everywhere I ever played, you would have needed an ace in your hand.

Ah. I was listening to some old-timer recently talking about the 15 game, how originally it didnt have the drop, but I guess that changed. Judging by the guy's age, it could have changed thirty years ago for all he knew.

Take solace in the fact that you must have an awesome poker face, because no one at that table would have believed that I had 99. I'm not sure if it would be the vomiting, the weeping or the defecating, but I think something would tip it off.
