Default Another Party Poker Hand

Again 1/2 at Party

I get J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in LP. UTG +2 raises, everyone folds to me and I reraise to 3 bets all fold and UTG2 calls.

Flop comes 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG2 bets, I raise, UTG2 reraises to 3 and I call.

Turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

UTG2 bets, I call

River Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

UTG2 bets and I call.

Results to follow, how would you play it.
Cheers
Adam

I would have reraised the turn. At that point you've got the best hand on the table unless he has a 3, or a set of 9's, Q's, K's or Aces.

The 3 is ridiculous, of course; he can't have a set, and wouldn't have raised preflop in UTG+2 with anything containing a lone 3.

A set of 9's is consistent with his play, but the odds are against it.

AA, KK, QQ would have brought about a preflop cap.

So he's either got an underpair or AK (though he might have capped that too), AQ, KQs, etc. If he's got an underpair, you want to reraise because he's all but drawing dead. If he's got AQ or something, you've *still* got odds on him, and theoretically you'd be protecting your hand with the bet (though I highly doubt he'd muck).

Did you lose the hand on the river when he caught his Q draw?

I'd have capped the flop and then, if he bets in to me again, called him down.

Thanks for your comments. At the end the guy turns over AA and beats me with a better full house, which makes me wonder why he didn't cap pre flop as has been stated. Hey well thems the breaks.
