Default Gus Hansen skips town, owes 4 million...

Got this piece of gossip from a touring tournament pro yesterday. Apparently, Gus Hansen owes the "big game" $4 million spread out among a few of the regular players. He has been in Monte Carlo since the Bellagio 25K in order to avoid Doyle and Posse. I guess he is trying hard to make that much on PStars and at European casinos so he can come back and not be an outcast.

Rumors are definitely circulating about this - not a chance he'll make it back playing limit the way he is right now. He's the number 1 100-200 fish out there.

I have a hard time believing this isnt true judging by the way he plays limit poker. Some of the stuff he does in that 1-2 game is so horrible its funny.

how about his visa expiring?

I belive he had a 3 month tourist visa on every entry into the States when he first started on the WPT. This meant he had leave the country once in a while. And I do believe he has a house/apartment in Monte Carlo?

He is definitely a very big gambler though.....

Why don't we just ask Sklansky how much he's made there?

Gus Hansen was doing great financially long before he started playing poker, I really doubt he would let himself get into this kind of shape...but then again I don't know the man.

BTW: every time I saw him play 100-200 he won a ton of money (by 100-200 standards)
