So can I pick 10 other days against 3/3/03 and we'll have an even money bet? Or if you insist on having the edge, how about I pick 9?

OK I'll pick 3/01/03, 3/02/03 and the seven days immediately following 3/03/03 and we'll use Greenwich Mean Time. The bet will be for a buffet dinner if we ever should meet, and of course if it should fall on any other day it's no bet--how's that?

ok but i get a reasonable fudge factor since im not an astrologist or whatever. i dont know whether they use greenwich, EST, local iraqi time, or whatever.

this might mean i get like 40 or 48 hours or whatever i dont know. (+-12?) you can have the week before and week after if you want.

OK how's this then: we'll go by GMT and you get the 12 hours on either side of 3/03/03 as well, which should more than cover any time difference. Since you're now getting 48 hours instead of 24 I'll take the two days prior and the 12 days after.

English newspaper said their money was on the night of 04/03/03, as the previous campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq have always begun on moonless nights. I can't see how the diplomatic wrangling will be done by then, though.

"English newspaper said their money was on the night of 04/03/03"

--I assume this means March 4th, and not April 3rd? International dates always look screwy to me.

Don't think it will happen until after March 7. Blix has a date at the UN.

Yeah, March 4th. You crazy guys need to get with the programme, date-wise. But I agree with Tom, I can't see them acting before something's happened at the UN to indicate definitively whether they're going to get a 2nd resolution or not.
