A related floater hand
Here is the related hand:
Something that I'm having problems with! Here is the hand: Now, having seen this, apparently it is possible to push someone off of their 66 or whatever he was floating with. You just need a scare card to fall. That argues for a turn stop and go in these spots, rather than the pure power play in the related hand (or the power play in this hand). Does that sound better than what I did in the related hand? Re: A related floater hand
What makes you think he is floating? When someone coldcalls I generally assume that he is donking around and is not making a strategic CC to set something up on a later street. So what gives here????

Makes no since to put in a bunch of bets on the flop with what is likely the worst hand. |

Re: A related floater hand
The reason I think he's calling preflop with the intention of taking shots is that he cannot have flopped top pair. If he did, there would have been a showdown. Even if he flopped second pair, there probably would have been a showdown.
So what hand do you think he's got here? It wasn't worth 3-betting preflop, and it can't withstand action when broadway cards fall, but it was worth raising on that flop? |

Re: A related floater hand
This happens so often that you can't just call every one down who does it.

Re: A related floater hand

This happens so often that you can't just call every one down who does it. [/ QUOTE ] That is not what I am saying. What everyone is trying to tell you is that when you raise with AK or whatever and get a cold caller, then you miss the flop you bet they raise, that USUALLY means you are behind. So 3betting and trying to out-aggressive them is throwing money away. What I am saying is that, if someone is being really aggressive and doing this to you a lot, you are going to have to start showing down your hands like AK or whatever to keep them honest and make sure that they're not just pushing you around. |

That being said, I am seeing a lot of this: "I like to float with ATs, it is pretty. And if that board comes rags I will just pick it up from the obvious AK over there." That everyone else on this board has the idea that this is not worth fighting over... I think HEFAP says something about occasionally raising utg with T9s so that people can't just steal when rags flop. |
