Good time for a free showdown?
10-handed game. UTG raises, and I 3-bet with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the button. UTG calls and we are heads-up to the flop.
The flop is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG bets and I call. The turn is T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG bets, I raise, he calls. River is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Check-check. |

Re: Good time for a free showdown?
I think this really depends on what kind of opponent we're dealing with.

Why didn't you raise him on the flop?

Re: Good time for a free showdown?
No point in raising the flop. When we're ahead he usually has 3 outs, and when behind we're usually getting 3 bet, and a 3 bet doesn't really tell us much, on a board like this heads up players like to get crazy. I don't even like raising the turn since nothing changed, and we probably should call a 3 bet, or make an incorrect fold with our 6 outer.
