Am I an ass?
I ordered delivery from a sushi place tonight. At some point the guy calls and says he's in the lobby so I go down, sign the bill (I paid with a credit card) and bring the food upstairs. Rut roh. I realize that I got a bagel with about 8 toppings, then I look closer at the receipt and realize its form some place called "Pick A Bagel". Shiiiiiiiiiiit!!
So I go downstairs and find the right delivery guy (who was actually waiting outside for some reason). I sign the right bill and get my food. Now I have my sushi and this super-bagel. I hang around for like 15 minutes trying to find whoever ordered the bagel but no one claims it. I ask the desk if they can hold it and see if anyone comes but they say they can't. I don't know what to do so I bring it to my apartment and give it to my roommate. What would you have done? btw, my building has 32 floors with like 60 people/floor, so finding the owner of the bagel would not really be possible. |

Re: Am I an ass?
It's a f-ing bagel! Who cares? If it were like a personalized birthday cake or something, then yeah I'll try to find the person who ordered it.

Re: Am I an ass?
Who the hell orders a bagel for delivery?
Screw 'em, if they're that odd. |

Re: Am I an ass?
You're not an ass. It's unreasonable to assume that every person should look at their food when taking it from the delivery guy. If anything it's his fault for calling you when you weren't the one who ordered from him.
I agree, you can't find the rightful owner, and it shouldn't go to waste, so giving it to your roomie is a good idea. But the security desk in your building needs to pull the branch out of its ass. |

The fact that you have to ask the question means the answer is "Yes".

The bagel guy was the only one without a pizza so I assumed he had my sushi. I was kinda stupid for not realizing it but after that i didn't know what to do. |

I don't think he did pay for it. He just signed for it. Whoever ordered paid by CC over the phone. I would've done basically the same thing though. Wait for a bit, ask anybody loitering in the lobby, ask the desk if they could hold it, and if none of that worked I'd give it to somebody who was hungry. GoT |

Re: Am I an ass?
Actually I fraudulantly signed a credit card reciept, so I dunno.
In my defense it was a Mastercard with a number that kinda looked like mine though. |
