Default 1000 CASINO POKER CHIPS CLEAR ACRYLIC CARRIER

Has anyone here purchased one of these from plegend, greatfuldad or another supplier from Ebay? Please report on cost, quality, etc.

Thanks in advance.

plegend's acrylic carrying case with 10 chip trays

greatfuldad's acrylic carrying case (no chip trays)

Did you have to post that exact auction of plegends...I was planning on buying that later today at a cheap price nobody bid, and I'll let you all know about the quality...his shipping is a scam though.

I got one from Plegend for a total of $42.65 (includes shipping/insurance). Shipped pretty fast, very nicely protected/packed. Seems very sturdy, looks nice. I have yet to load it up and tote it around but when I do I'll post more feedback. Since the 10 racks alone would have run me at least $20 I think I got a hell of a deal.

Default An alternative to the clear carry case...

Here's a different solution I posted here a while ago...

A Samsonite Fibreloc Plus 1800-denier polyester fabric bag. With two main equally sized compartments and a small pocket on the outside. Sturdy handle, sturdy padded shoulder strap. The outside pocket holds decks of cards, dealer buttons, etc. I found them on outpost.com...http://tinyurl.com/yv9hl

The key dimensions:
Main compartment interior: 10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L
Back compartment interior: 10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L

Take two chip racks and put them end to end and measure...yes, they are 10.25 in. H x 3 in. W x 16.25 in. L

I bought 4 of these babies at $19.99 each! You have to do a little "modification" to make it perfect...when you cut out a fabric accordion flap and a divider on each side of each case, you get a chip case that fits 2 chip racks filled with chips end to end in each side perfectly. Layer on another 3 to 4 more racks and each side holds 2x5=10 racks of chips, and zips shut tight. Yes, we're talking 2000 chips.

Now this is seriously heavy when filled with 2000 chips and racks. For storage, it's perfect. For travel, I fill it with 2x4 racks on each side with an empty rack on top of each, or 2x3 with a few empty racks.

In looking at yours from greatfuldad, do you believe there is a difference in quality from the samples above from plegend and greatfuldad ? The plegend one sold for $23.35 and comes with 10 chip trays, while the starting price for greatfuldad was $41 for the case alone and did not sell.

shipping ont he plegend one makes the prices pretty close, so if they are the same case but plegend is giving the trays, thats probably the better deal.

still remains though, are the 2 cases identical, and are they worth their cost.

Not to be rude, but how do you figure that? The greatfuldad set has a shipping price of $17.99 making the total cost $58.99 ($41 minimum bid price + $17.99 shipping) versus the plegend's total cost at $43.30 ($23.35 bid + $19.95 shipping; insurance is $2.20 extra).

The plegend one is a much better deal but I want to know if anyone can distinguish between the two as far a quality.
