If the final play was a bunt and run, why wasnt WMH running on the first pitch that dusted Jake? Did he know the brushback was coming?

If you are a movie director/producer, how can you let the same fat guy run out of the same stands in two different scenes at the end of the movie?

Another question. Why was the Duke only brought in when there were two outs in the ninth? Why didn't he start the inning? Also, why was the crowd not excited when the unnamed Indian almost hit a game tying home run (which was caught at the wall) in the ninth?

[/ QUOTE ]

tomlinson is the name of the dude who flies ut to the wall- the crowd is breathing in deeply in anticipation of the scream.

Obviously the Duke had pitched several days in a row at that point and they were only bringing him in because of an emergancy situation. Which was a runner on first with a 42 yr old catcher at the plate.

Jake is obviously bunting the second pitch- he is going to take the first one so he can get a feel for the Duke's speed- duh.

That's an easy mistake to make- in real life everyone at a cleveland indians game is a fat white guy.

I love to see this movie on regular TV, if only because of the hilariously bad overdubbing (to make it safe for sensitive ears).

Dorn: I've only got one thing to say to you. Strike this [different voice]guy[/different voice][screwed up timing] out.

Gold.

you brilliantly captured the way that line is delivered on the edited-for-TV version. I enjoy watching/laughing at that version so much
