I'd of slowed down after the villain 3 bets the flop then gone into call down mode.
Edit - i really don't get the river raise.

Flop play is fine. Turn raise is probably fine too. When 3 bet, I think you're in call-down territory.
I seriously don't understand your river raise. I think the excitement of the moment got to you. What is BB 3 betting the turn with that you are beating here? My guess is the BB hit his set on the river and was checkraising everyone.

Then why was he 3-betting the turn? With AK [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] as a semi-bluff? Seems to me that he would want MP to call, and not face him with 2 BB cold. I think if you paused at the river and looked at BB's line for the whole hand, what possible hand would he have played that way? I guess the only one might be pocket tens, and the jack scared him. That's quite a specific read to put on him though...
