I believe last year's WSOP coverage showed Fischman playing 4 tables at UB on some kind of monitor that had 1600x1200.

I doubt it was that tough for the audience to figure out what was going on.

The show is ridiculous.

It's like doing a dramatic TV show on a baseball team where the short-stop throws left-handed and the star-pitcher is only good because he has "in's" with the umpires and throws nothing but spit-balls.

Non-baseball people might not know much about the mistakes or how unrealsitic it is....but that doesn't excuse the people writing it for making a really stupid show.

When the movie The Scout had Brendan Fraser striking-out 27 consecutive batters in his major-league debut (in the world-series no less) I complained about how incredibly stupid that movie was too (as did just about everyone else who saw it).

However...in defense of those who keep saying "it's a TV show, lighten-up" I have been trying to find any non-poker players for their thoughts on the show (and whether they think it's as bad as I think it is) but unfortunately I can't find any.

Friend of mine who watches a lot of sports (and ESPN obviously) and knows nothing about poker basically has the attitude of "why the f'ck is ESPN doing a TV show about poker?"

I'm curious if there's much talk at the B&M tables about the show and whether the typical LAG drunken-fish actually likes it.

Doyle Brunson too. It would have been easy to do this better than with 3 mice and 3 monitors for 3 tables.

If you watch the show as a comedy, not an informational show, its just freaking hilarious.

You know how to play texas FOLD'EM!!
etc etc
i laugh my ass off at that show

You dont watch family guy and think to yourself "omg a baby cant talk and engineer laser rifles! He doesnt even have tools!! What are these writers thinking? And wtf is that dog talking for" Its all for laughs...just like tilt.

I wonder how dectectives feel about CSI, or cops and attorneys feel about law and order or the practice, or how doctors feel about ER or House......

I can only say that I will never tell anyone that I play online after that, how embarrassing... he made us all look like bizarre freaks...

I say we boycott this show

I saw you drop the pretentious, smug, and overly-sensitive attitude. Relax, have a kittle fun and don't take yourself or your occupation/hobby so seriously. Its a f'ing TV show and you getting so caught up in the TV melodrama that you had to post about makes you look like an uber tool. If you dont like it, don't watch it.

Family guy is intended to be a farce and is intended to be funny.

Tilt is intended to a be a somewhat realistic portrayal of high-stakes poker.

If you watched Law and Order and then in the middle of an opening-statement Sam Waterston decided to put panty-hose on his head and leap around the room singing "I'm a little tea-cup" then I don't think the excuse "hey, it's a TV show. Real-life is too boring to show on TV so they had to spice it up a bit" would be appropriate.

I agree with the general idea of watching Tilt for it's unintended comedic value because it is SOOOO bad.

but comparing the realisticness of Tilt to Family guy isn't appropriate.

However...if Tilt DID have a talking dog and a baby with laser-rifles it would probably be more realistic than it is now and it would REALLY rock.

It wasn't just one table per monitor, it was one table per COMPUTER!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

I know everyone loves to slam this show for any reason, but the purpose of having 3 seperate monitors in this scene is so that the 98% of the audience that doesn't read 2+2 or play online can see that online you can play multiple games...

[/ QUOTE ]

This reminds me of a few years back when I went to see "Swordfish" (the one where Halle Barrie is sunbathing topless) with a buddy of mine. Every time someone was hacking and IP addresses were appearing on his monitor, my buddy would sigh heavily. After the movie, I asked him what was upsetting him during the movie. He replied curtly, "The IP's were impossible. The first octet was always 300, and you can't have an octet over 255."

He works in network security, and this really upset him.

The other 99.99999% of the world wouldn't have noticed this glaring error...but that part totally ruined the movie for him, I'm sure of it.

Wow.......are you guys missing the point of this show. It's a show based around cards. It's not an instructional video. If you lighten up and stop nit picking every detail, you'd see it's a good show.

I thought the receptionist was going to get banged. She turns out to be FBI. Good stuff. The J2 showdown was totally unexpected.

I thought Rocky was an awesome movie despite the fact that what they were doing didn't even resemble boxing.

The Color of Money was a good movie despite the fact that some of the pool scenes were ridiculous.

Lighten up and use some imagination.

I suspect most cops and lawyers appreciate the reasonably realistic portrayal of Law and Order...although I haven't asked any cops or lawyers lately.

My GF is a nurse at a hospital and she LOVES the show ER.
She says that some of the situations are a bit crazy and TV'ed up but, for the most part, she finds it to be fairly realsitic.
(note - she just works on a regular floor of the hospital...not in the ER room because it's just too freaking hectic).

A show doesn't have to be completely accurate to be somewhat realistic.

Tilt is not even borderline accurate and is completely unrealistic.
