i played very well the whole tourney, a stars $20... i really dropped the ball here- i thought it was a steal... mr. big stack had made some bad folds before, but not this time... tell me why:

why not just fold? Either you are guarenteed second or everyone becomes a middle stack. Neither option is all that bad for you.
Or you can just call and try to hit something. Big stack isn't going to bet out without hitting a big piece of it anyway. On the plus side... you get to head to the bar a little earlier than otherwise! Hope it worked out for you.

This is bad, but not as bad as you think it is. As long as button doesn't win the hand and you get 3rd place, you win 2nd place prize money.
It's still bad though. SB's smooth call probably means he has KQ beat, and if button doubles, that's not the end of the world. You're in a 3 way race for first with 25 big blinds.
