Have no read on the villain, because...
I just joined the table / He just joined the table
A whole lot of posts are starting out like this recently. (if I am wrong about that part, don't bother reading the rest of my post) Usually, a story of a tough call, followed by a lost hand follows. Since we play a LOT more hands when we've already sat at the table for some time, against players who've been sitting there for a while, it seems to me like something else is going on. Here are a few explanations i can think of: a) small stakes NL is so read-dependant that most big losses occur at the beginning of a session, when you have no reads. b) people post more hands at the beginning of a session. c) people post hands after a session, but remember their first hands better d) we don't pay enough attention to the game because we are multitabling/surfing the web/emailing/talking on the phone/watching tv/jacking off, but we just use the standard line cuz we don't want to confess this to our fellow posters Feel free to add or comment |
