Default Party 22, KK turns into flush draw, level 1

This hand played out rather strangely. My pair of Kings turned into a nut flush draw and I was getting pot odds to call. Not that I play for pot odds for a substantial portion of my stack at level one but it seemed like I could risk a few hundred and still survive. Am I a fool ?? Was I on tilt cause the A ruined my K's.. You be the judge.

How was the preflop raise ?
The call on the flop ?
The call on the turn ?
SHould I have bet the river ? I used the "do not raise if the only hand that calls will have you beat". I guess the Ace might call but the flush would also call. At that point I wanted to risk no more of my stack this early.

Value bet the river. 250 looks good.

That would leave me with 225 chips if I am beaten by the flush. Are you confident that he does not have the flush here?

I thought I had the best hand but by checking the river I could survive with a workable stack. Valuebetting would pot commit me.

Why not raise the flop? It may seem odd, but by raising flop, you can buy a free card on the turn with FE, and fold to more resistance.

Of course, raising does leave you with little behind, so I guess calling could work, but it seems like pushing the semibluff could work here.

And yeah, value-bet the river. A flush bets the river, he's probably got an A which could pay you off.

GREAT advice...

I bet flush draws in ring games all the time. I rarely raise with them but a raise might slow him down and be cheaper in the long run. Interesting tactic. I was to upset at the ace to think along advanced lines such as raising the flop.

Thanks

Of course, it works a lot better when the pot's smaller.
