PLO8 $100 hand
Sorry no hand history here at work, but here are the details.
I am OTB with AKKJds and $120. MP ($80) limps, CO ($15) raises to $4, I call, BB ($100) calls, MP calls. The flop is AJ9 with two [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img](not one of my suits). BB checks, MP checks, CO goes all-in for ~$10, I raise to $25, MP smooth calls. The turn is an offsuit T. MP checks, I check. River is the K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] MP checks, I bet $40 hoping to bluff a baby-flush or straight out of the sidepot. What do you think of my line? I am particularly interested in thoughts on my turn check and river bluff. edit-- CO was a total sucker in case anyone is wondering about my flop raise. |

Re: PLO8 $100 hand
Looks fine to me. Feels like MP is checking a straight. If he calls at least you have several outs to still pick up the pot.

Suspect you did not read the post correctly. The play is high read/experience dependant. Will it work often enough to be +EV in the long run is all you care about, I don't have enough info to make a judgment. |

Re: PLO8 $100 hand
The absolute most important thing to note about this hand. On the flop you are playing a 2 card hand in a 4 card hand game. I would not be aggressive at all with is. However if I had AQJT then I would happily go to war.

Re: PLO8 $100 hand
What about betting the turn It seems to me at this point he either has a a flush draw or has made his straight.
I would think he would be more likely to lay down a baby flush draw, than he would a baby flush. Thoughts? |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with you, and normally I wouldn't get frisky with this hand, but I wanted to isolate the all-in shortstack, who was bad enough to make this play with nothing but a back-door low draw (which is in-fact what he had along with a 6-high flush draw). I figured that my hand was very likely good against him, and I thought everyone would fold to my raise. I was genuinely surprised when I was called. |
