Help me out guys....I can\'t figure out Hold\'em
I usually play sng's but i recently started playing limit. $1/$2 drove me nuts with the bad starting hands always in and catching something. I've been playing 2/4 the past week or so but i have one problem....I can't seem to win with pocket A's....If i raise, they all fold (net $3), if someone else raises, i've been just calling to raise post flop/turn...and i've been taking a beating. PT is at home so i don't have the stats (at work now), but I imagine winning slightly under 50% of my hands. Not too bad, but the ones i lose, i lose big!
Is there another way i should be playing these? Raise no matter what? If i just folded my AA's preflop, i'd be making a killing. Am i too blinded by AA to realize someone else hit 2 pair? |

Re: Help me out guys....I can\'t figure out Hold\'em
1. Calm down.
2. Read Small Stakes Hold'em by Ed Miller. 3. Repeat #2. 4. Start playing at small limits (try .5/1), and posting hands in the Micro-limit forums. 5. Read the Micro forum and this forum. 6. Be patient, and realize that the long-run is very long and that limit hold'em is a high variance game that will probably be tougher psychologically than the SNGs. P.S. I'm locking this. |
