Advertising will get people to want to play on the same crappy software as party but with 1/10 the games and weak fishpool? I doubt it. I think they're gonna need some really good ect... to save Empire.

The second tier companies like Empire, Prima, Pacific, Absolute, etc. should merge and deploy a state-of-the-art platform. The customer migration might be difficult, but should be able to be done seamlessly with a client software upgrade. Online poker can support no more than 3 platforms, probably two. Branding and advertising drives growth in this area, and small players dont have the scale to compete with Party or Pokerstars.

Empire netted 31 million last quarter and has very little maintenance/service costs. They can lose 90% of their customer base and still be profitable.

I mean, eventually they'd die due to simple lack of games, but without a massive amount of embezzlement somewhere, everyone would still get their money back. Even Zerorake cashed everybody out before going under.
