Default HSBC Online Savings Acct, Free $25, 3.75 APY

Just like ING and Emigrant Direct, but a better APY. This deal is for US customers only.

I dont remember seeing any previous first depo bonus for HSBC.. someone please correct me if im wrong about this. One of the highest APY savings accounts out there made better by the free $25. Enjoy!

be forewarned that setting this account up is nowhere near as easy as ING Direct. It took me like 10 days and 4-5 mailings to finally get set up. Also their website is nowhere near as nice as ING. HSBC does not automatically link your funding account to your HSBC account for future transactions..You have to set this up on your on on their website. Unless you have $50K or $100K-the extra $225/$450 per year may not be worth it. ING Direct also doesnt mess with your head they dont abuse the float like alot of banks do. ETF's only take 1-2 business days back to your B&M bank account.$100K I go for the extra effort for the extra 0.45% for less than $50K imo it's really not worth leaving ING if you use ING.

What do you mean by abusing the float?
