Default Am I WA/WB here (poll)?

Hey all, one thing I see is that some people have a hard time identifying when exactly is a situation when they are WA/WB so I thought I throw some examples up there and see what you guys think. Remember WA/WB is usually reserved for -

1) Heads-up on the flop
2) You're out-of-position
3) You're just as likely to be WA (Villain only has 3 outs or less) as WB (you only have 3 outs or less).

Question 1 -
You raise A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG, an unknown 3-bets you UTG+1. Folded back around to you and you call. The flop is -
2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Question 2 - Preflop the same as Question 1 but the flop is -
Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Question 3 - Preflop the same as Question 1 but the flop is -
A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Question 4 - You raise black QQ in MP1, folded to unknown CO who 3-bets you. Folded back to you and you cap and CO calls. Flop is -

2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Question 5 - Same preflop as Question 4 but the flop is -
Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Question 6 - Same preflop as Question 4 but the flop is -
A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Question 7 - You have AK [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the BB. A loose UTG+1 Villain raises and it is folded to you and you 3-bet. Villain caps. Flop comes out -
K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Question 8 - Same preflop as Question 7 but the flop is -
Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Question 9 - Same preflop as Question 7 but the flop is -
A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

nice post

this makes my head hurt but it's a great exercise.

at first glance i said: none of them are WA/WB situations. we are either ahead more times than we are behind, or we are behind more times than we are ahead - but not really 50/50 either way.

but i want to revisit this when i have more coffee.

i think if you focuse on the 3rd aspect/point of WA/WB it is easier to consider. some could go either way like #8, but in general see my post for what i thought.

Do you mean "yes"? There are plenty where we may very well be way ahead or way behind, but most aren't 50/50.

I wonder if some people are mis-reading this poll. For example, what are we WB in #9?

maybe i misunderstood the poll. i'll reread when i get home from work. until then:

i wasn't sure about #5 because: if villian has a heart, he has 9 outs against us. if we're behind to a straight, we have 6 outs to win, but it could be WA/WB if the villain has lower trips or AA/KK with no heart

yes. i know. especially since we are OOP and HU in all of the cases.

what hurts is trying to deal with 10 at once and trying to count up all the combos (something i suck at).

Good thread -
I was the first to vote and I said 'yes' for 2, 3, and 6. I think we're probably behind in #6 though. Some may argue you're usually ahead in 2 & 3, but I am more inclined to give an unknown 3-bettor in UTG+1 credit for a hand.
