How many hands to go from not knowing anything to 1 bb/100
How long would it take someone from knowing nothing about poker, starting to play and winning around 1bb/100? I've played about 12000 hands and am running at about -0.4/100 and it's frustrating as I think I am at least a break even player. Luckily with bonuses and casinowhoring I'm' up 2 grand, but it would be better with a positive winrate. A couple of good sessions would get me to break even so I'm assuming my sample size is very small to judge my win rate.
I guess I'm curious as to others experiences. |

Re: How many hands to go from not knowing anything to 1 bb/100
be more specific. are you talking about a guy knowing absolutely nothing about hold'em? then you take him and sit him down at a 0.5/1 or 1/2 table and wait until he has learned enough on his own that he is now a small winner at the game? does he know how many cards are in a poker deck, and what suits are? does he know about betting, calling, etc.?

Someone who reads SSHE, applies the preflop starting hand charts, and has just a basic grasp of the EV/postflop concepts and applies them to their game should be instantly a 1BB or more winner at Party .5/1
