Default Party Sidebet bar

You now bet during sit n goes on the flop color being all of the same color. It pays 8:1 if you hit. Im lazy what are the odds of actually hitting this ?

Party poker is like the newest hustler on the block these days.

The first card will always be a color. Then it's 12-C-2 divided by 51-C-2. Or am I overlooking?

I calculate the odds of hitting at 8.5/1 giving the house a 5.9% edge.

Those greedy bastards! A group could collude to gain an edge though

1/((26/52) * (25/51) * (24/50))= 1 in 8.5 chance.

While I know this probably isn't going to make it +EV or anything I wonder how much the odds change when you're holding (for example) two red cards and betting on black? It will take someone smarter than me to figure it out.

J

EDIT: I guess you have to place your wager before the hand is dealt, so nevermind...although I'm still curious what the odds would be.
