Re: What the Hell is \"meh\"
I disagree. I believe the word probably came from "eh" but I hear "meh" all the time. To say the word "eh" your mouth has to already be open. However, most people don't stand around slack-jawed all the time. If you try to say "eh" beginning with your mouth closed, it comes out "meh". In a round about way, I guess "meh" is a shortened version of "eh".

Re: What the Hell is \"meh\"
[ QUOTE ]
I see the word "meh" used incessantly in this forum. I have never seen it anywhere else in print. What the hell does it mean? [/ QUOTE ]I've used meh (not meth), since I was 13, and I got it from The Simpsons. I'm surprised you don't know what it means. |

Re: What the Hell is \"meh\"
[ QUOTE ]
it's a phrase that indicates disinterest, and when polled people who use it say that it's actually used outside of the internet. i strongly believe it existed on the internet first, and the only people who say it got it from there, and i think it's really gay. people say "eh...", not "meh." [/ QUOTE ]It certainly didn't come from the net first. It definately came from The Simpsons. |

Re: What the Hell is \"meh\"
So it's not the 'enema' (I'll spell it right this time) thing?

[ QUOTE ] It definately came from The Simpsons. [/ QUOTE ] Context, please. I don't remember this. [/ QUOTE ]I donno the exact context but I remember something to the effect of Bart thinking of the negative consequences of his future actions, then when deciding to go ahead and do [insert something stupid] anyways, he says "Meh". I believe Lisa's said it before too, and so has Nelson. I can try and find the exact context of the first time it was used. |
